Coaching and CAS since Christmas
(Posted on 08/03/18)
It’s been a busy first few months for me at CIS, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. As a coach it’s been my role to really get to know students and their individual aspirations and preferences. The students have been incredibly supportive and welcoming towards me, which has helped me to hit the ground running in my role.
Our year 12’s are now well underway with their Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) and Service Learning (SL) Projects. These fundamental IB projects see our students giving back to the wider community and bettering themselves in extracurricular activities. This has seen our students get involved in a vast array of projects from Youth Arts Leaders, setting up charity walks, volunteering at local sports clubs to becoming Tennis Coaches and more.
Additionally our Enrichment Electives are proving to be popular among students and with the support of the staff we are now offering Electives in exciting areas which include Mindfulness, First Aid, Robotics, Dance and Golf to name a few!
With the summer term fast approaching and hopefully bringing better weather, we are looking forward to moving the vast majority of our Electives outside, offering even more opportunities. The summer term will also see us complete our first Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions!
