New School, New Year, No Problem - The Transition from Year 11 to Year 12

The transition from year 11 to year 12.

I found that transitioning from Year 11 to Year 12 was rather easy at CIS, an IB school, as it’s a much smaller school than my past high school.

We get to choose our options with more freedom, so now I can focus on subjects that actually interest me while still having the basics of maths, English and a foreign language.

I like the fact that we’re not treated like children at CIS, but more like young adults, giving us more responsibilities and preparing us more for the “real world” that we’re going to be exposed to in two years’ time.

And yes, with responsibilities comes more work and free periods to use for revising, but overall I find this new school to be more creative and enjoyable than my past school.

I liked my transition from year 11, because I finally feel like this is a school where I can fit in, having other international students with a mixed background or similar experience make me feel understood and not the “odd one out” anymore.
