Business Management

DP Business Management examines business decision-making processes and how these decisions impact on and are affected by internal and external environments.

Emphasis is placed on on strategic decision-making and the day-to-day business functions of marketing, production, human resource management & finance. Links between the topics are central to the course and this integration promotes a holistic overview of business activity.

The DP course aims to help students understand the implications of business activity in a global market. It also encourages the appreciation of ethical concerns & issues of social responsibility. The new course is based around six key concepts; Change, Culture, Ethics, Globalization, Innovation and Strategy. Teaching is supported through case studies and examples from the news and other sources to develop students’ understanding of the six concepts and the tools, techniques and theories used in business management.
